About
An agency built for creditors who still want the customer back
Action Recovery works receivables for businesses that bill consumers — and treats the relationship behind the balance as an asset worth protecting rather than a cost of collection.
Who we are
A collection agency that argues for restraint.
Action Recovery is led by Norm Kieffer and operates as a partnership between Norm and Jim Kieffer. The agency serves creditors — dental and medical practices, funeral homes, auto dealers, schools, property managers, utilities, contractors — anyone owed money by consumers who would rather recover the balance than win an argument.
The whole model is built on a single observation: most past-due accounts are not refusals. They are avoidance, confusion, or a balance that arrived at a bad moment. Those accounts respond to a clear, professional letter far more often than anyone expects — which is why the ladder starts there and why most engagements never leave it.

How we work
Three commitments, kept in writing.
De-escalation by default
The ladder is entered at the bottom because the cheapest recovery is the one that does not cost you the customer. Pressure is available; it is simply not the opening move.
Do what you say
Clients say it more often than anything else about this agency, and it is not an accident. Notice before escalation, authorization before litigation, and no fee structure that reveals itself later.
Advice before engagement
Every engagement opens with an assessment, and the assessment sometimes ends in “handle this in-house.” An agency that only ever recommends itself is not giving advice.
Licensing and reach
Where we can work your accounts.
Collection agencies are licensed state by state, and the states an agency is licensed in determine where it can lawfully pursue a balance. Action Recovery’s licensed footprint is published here once the current review is complete — an unverified list would be worse than no list.

Attorney forwarding
Suit-worthy accounts are forwarded to collection-specialist attorneys through Action Recovery’s membership in the American Lawyers Quarterly Network. The agency administers and coordinates that process — it does not practice law, and no account is litigated without the client’s written authorization.
Talk to the advisor
Where do your accounts sit on the ladder?
Every engagement starts the same way: describe your receivables — how old, how large, how many, what’s been tried — and get an honest read on how far up the ladder they’d ever need to travel. Often the answer is “not far.”
